Can We use the same word i.e ‘Breaking’, for two opposite situations of the same Subject Matter???

Situation 1: Before Completion
e.g ‘Breaking Fast’

Situation 2: After Completion
e.g ‘Breaking Fast’

I know it’s a very tough question, but that’s how the studies of #Interpretation goes.

Let me give you some idea about the background of this above question.

I was on Twitter and I read an article about Ramadan, where it was written “Breaking Fast”, then at that moment I got a question in my mind “Can the word ‘Break’ be associated with the word ‘Fast’ ?”

I did research and found that all the meanings of the word ‘Break’ has Negative Connotation i.e the word ‘Break’ is always used to show the negative meanings.

For example: Breaking Marriage

check the meanings on this Image: 1
break

Then I searched the synonyms of the word ‘Breaking’
check it on this Image: 2

b1

So my interpretation for the word ‘Break’ is that it always gives a Negative Effect and it is used before the completion of the matter i.e if the matter is completed then We cannot use the word ‘Break’…ok

Now let’s see the word ‘Fast’

We muslim fast during the Month of Ramadan, the holiest month in the lunar calendar. ‘Fasting’ has a great deal of Spiritual connection and depicts many positive outcomes in the person’s life.

Now let’s check what the Qur’an says about the ‘Fast’ in the verse 2:187

“…and eat and drink until the white thread (light) of dawn appears to you distinct from the black thread (darkness of night), then complete your Saum (fast) till the nightfall…”

I read all the interpretations available on the website www.quran.com  all of them used the word “Complete” not any one used the word ‘Break’.

Now three questions arise

1. Can the Completion of the Fast be done by ‘Breaking’ it?

2.Can We use the word ‘Break’ after the completion of the Fast?

3. Can the word ‘Break’ be used as a synonym of the word ‘Complete’?

In the example below, See the difference in the meaning

1. Breaking Fast

2. Completing Fast

Which one is correct, I leave this question to you for your interpretation, but for me In Sha Allah, I will always use the second on.
